FPV Freerider User Manual (PDF)

This is the deluxe version of FPV Freerider. It is focused on bigger and more detailed sceneries.

You need a pretty powerful computer for the simulator to run smoothly. If necessary you can run it at lower resolution in order to get better framerate (using command line parameters as described in the manual). If you have any doubts whether it will work on your setup, please try the free demo version first.

The demo contains only one scenery, has a limited amount of features and options and a quad with deliberately rather sluggish settings. In the full version you can tune the settings freely to your liking.

Here is a few tips on how to set up your Spektrum transmitter to work with the simulator:

3D mode is selected using the flight mode button on the top left (Self-leveling - Acro - 3D)

To arm the throttle control in 3D mode, put the throttle stick above middle. You will have positive thrust above middle stick and negative thrust below.

Note: The Linux version is highly experimental and will only work on some distributions, please try the free version first.

Not to gooood It's good in graphics but in the air you can't see were your going, i you can't move the camera at all so I keep flopping all over the country,I have a real race drone and i can move the camera up and down..at least mine does.please make it so I can move The dang camera and also when it hits the ground can it blow up into tiny plastic bits for lols,and can you make at least one more level for the free version also make it all look professional like add anouncers and have other drones and tv people.tnx

excellent learning simulator Good idea to be hard, unlike actual Drone controls. it's good to learn the simulator harder than it actually is, due to the fact that learning this and mastering this will make it a lot easier for someone to use the controls on a real drone, thus making it easier to control. I suggest you put 3 settings, beginner, intermediate, professional. so have three levels that way people can set different levels to challenge themselves. I love it bro. Pierre aka GHOST

Good learning tool Do not buy for LOS. This is only good for FPV

Nice portable simulator, touch suggestion This game is made nicely, works well with a gamepad, but can be a struggle with touch controll. I suggest, while using touch, there should be a vibration feedback and larger deadzone for the roll and yaw axis, so you know when you centered. This would make things much easier.

I have an idea to make better touch screen controls. Only have throttle slider (left hand side of screen - at least 75% height of screen and have that adjustable for different size devices) and use accelerometer for yaw pitch and roll. Awesome game btw. I have full version for pc and love it!!

The PC game is amazing and This Android app is too! Mad fun for those that want to practice and hone their skills. Good for some quick fun with touch controls, though a USB controller or real R/C controller is highly recommended. USB On the Go ftw!

Slow to learn as a new flyer but addictive and fun As with the PC version, my Xbox360 controller (wireless with a USB receiver into an OTG adapter) works too. It's odd, novel and cool that I can move the cursor around android home screen with a game controller!

Glad it's not real lol I'm glad none of the drones I own fly like the one in this game. Looks a nice game. But really really hard for control. I have a couple of parrot drone and so glad the controls on my phone don't work like anything in this game. It would cost me a fortune in bits lol.

Nice I you can also use a normal transmitter. I use my devo 8, with a USB simulator cable that I use for my PC, and connect it to an otg cable. So you can use your dx8, tarannis, or futaba radio.

The game is as good as it is on the PC.. Even with this app you can connect your controller and set it up just normally!!

I like it Its tough, really tough initially but after a day I can complete the course fairly easily. I just wonder how well this app prepares me for actually racing fpv. Will update once I get the money to build myself a mini quad and I can tell you how much it helped

Great with a transmitter! When I tried to use touch controls it was close to impossible, but I plugged in my Taranis and calibrated it, I had tons of fun! If you have a transmitter I highly recommend this to practice or just have some fun

This is a great simulator and takes the fear off crashing away but it is not very easy racing the quad when the first person view is pointing to the ground.make Tilting the camera up an option

Touchscreen input is too tiny. It works great. But I think you need to add expo and dual rates. And you should make the touchscreen input circle more larger. Its reaally hard to control with such a tiny circle on the screen. Just moved my thumb a little, and it reach the full throttle already. If you could make the circle more larger, it would be a lot better. Keep up the good works.

Amazing Have the paid version of both Android and pc version. Fun to play on my phone when bored. But when using my Taranis with USB dangle I can play on my tablet which is amazing. Also on my tablet I can run the video through my dominator v3's and get a really good simulator experience. If your not using this with a physical controller your not doing this Sim justice.

Can confirm that by using an OTG cable it also works with a Ps3 wireless controller, and my Taranis X9D+ transmitter (using the model I created for Hotprops). This game runs fine on my Sony Z1 Compact. Shall test it on a Nexus 7 tablet soon. Excellent game!

Very realistic controls very well polished very well done

Love it Used this to get basic understanding and im pretty confident in flying my real quadcopter now. The only thing it does not factor in is the wind. Hawaii has swirling winds and flying in acro mode is just crazy.
